Service Description

Duty To Act course is designed for individuals who have a "duty to act" in emergencies, including first responders, security personnel, and community protectors. This advanced training provides the medical skills needed to stabilise casualties in high-risk environments before professional help arrives. This is a follow on from Active Bystander. What You’ll Learn: ✅ MARCH algorithm - Stop massive bleeding, secure airways, treat respiratory injuries, check circulation and why hypothermia is important in trauma casualties. ✅ Focus on three stages of care - Direct Threat Care, Indirect Care and Evacuation care. ✅ Use of additional equipment - Such as monitoring devices and oxygen. ✅ Communication with emergency services – MIST reports, communicating with helicopter. ✅ Secondary injuries - How to treat secondary injuries and best course of action to take. ✅ Hands-On, Scenario-Based Training – Practical exercises to develop real-world confidence. ✅ Access to the Checkmate Training Telegram group where training videos are posted. That way you can always revert back to them if you forget. Duration is two days and consists of 7-8 hours a day. Payment Terms Full Payment Required: Core Clinch 1 (2 days): Due at booking to secure your spot. Core Pistol 1 (6-8 hours): Due 7 days before start. Core Rifle 1 (8-10 hours): Due 7 days before start. Medical (TECC): Due at booking unless specified otherwise. Methods: Pay via credit/debit card (Visa, Mastercard, etc.) at checkout. Contact [insert email] for alternatives (e.g., bank transfer). Non-Payment: If unpaid by the due date, your spot may be canceled and offered to waitlisted clients after a 48-hour notice. Cancellation Fees 14+ Days Before Start: Full refund. 7-14 Days Before Start: 50% refund. Less Than 7 Days: No refund—resources are locked in, but you can transfer to a future session ($25 fee, subject to availability). No-Show Penalties No-Show Fee: Full course cost charged if you don’t attend without notice—no refunds or transfers unless due to a documented emergency (e.g., medical, family crisis—proof required). Late Arrival: Arrive on time—missing over 25% of Day 1 (Core Clinch 1) or 50% of a single-day course (Core Pistol/Rifle 1) counts as a no-show, full fee applies.
