Checkmate Training Standards

Our shooting standards are nothing exceptional. We use a blend of the Modern Samurai Project and GBRS Group Drills and tweaked a few things to our budget and time.
Standards allow you to see where your baseline is and where you need to improve. Remember that you should always perform these as cold starts.

Modern Samurai Pistol Drill

  1. 3 - 2 Drill: Par Time 3 seconds, Distance 3 meters, 3 Rounds C - Zone Chest, 2 Rounds Head Box.

  2. 1 at 7: Par Time 1.5 seconds, Distance 7 meters, 1 Round C - Zone chest.

  3. Bill Drill: Par Time 3 seconds, Distance 7 meters, 6 Rounds C - Zone Chest.

  4. 1 @ 22: Par Time 2.25 Seconds, Distance 22 meters, 1 Round C - Zone Chest.

This is all done from the draw.

Fitness Standards

We use the US ARMY APFT Standards which break it down to gender and age. This will give you the requirements for each segment. Which consists of push-ups, sit-ups and a run.

Again its not mind blowing or extreme but it brings everyone to a standard and holds them accountable.

Here is a link to the standards.

Medical

We ensure that everyone on the team is always up to scratch with medical. We usually run through our check list that you get when you attend one of our medical courses.

Then its scenario based training from there. Creating scenes that are realistic and applicable to your specific needs is important. It does not always need to be tactical, it can be as simple as a car accident.
